Coronation Celebrations Part 3

As soon as I finished my duties at John Whitehead Park, I got home for a quick freshen up and was across to Billingham Synthonia Club to help with their celebrations.
I was by the door, at the red carpet VIP entrance with two very special guests. My job was to help welcome all the guests and then go inside to deliver the proclamation for the third time.

The VIP was obviously Very Important Paddington.
Now, I was warm so I can only imagine how warm the person inside Paddington was. Luckily they got a cooling off break whilst I delivered the proclamation.
After the proclamation was over, there was another little task to complete. Paula, the manager had told us that in the next door function room there was a birthday party for a lady called Maureen who was celebrating her 75th.
To much surprise myself and Paddington joined the party. After settling everyone down I delivered a very impromptu cry. Using the name of the lady in question I came up with:
OYEZ OYEZ OYEZ
I've been next door today my bell to ring,
to celebrate our new King.
Now I'm here just for Maureen, who for today is the birthday Queen!
GOD SAVE THE KING
This was followed by the entrance of the guys from the band next door, looking every inch like the Jersey Boys and bearing a cake with lit candles.
Stopping behind the lovely Maureen, they gave a beautiful acapella rendition of Happy Birthday.
A lovely finish to a fantastic weekend.
I don't do this often enough, but thank you to Billingham Town Council. Firstly for choosing me to be their Town Crier and their representative at events such as this, and secondly for their continued support in my first year. Thank you!
