A First Outing

After collecting my new tunic yesterday, I got a chance to wear it on duty for the first time today. I won't say what the occasion was just yet, I want that to be a separate story. Today is about showing you my Livery.

The livery is not yet complete, quite a bit of it will change in the very near future. In actual fact, the only part of it that is the new livery is the tunic, cape and the shoes! The black ribbon is to mark the passing of our beloved Sovereign, Queen Elizabeth.

I have been given the absolutely immense honour of being asked by the Town Council to make the Royal Proclamation officially announcing the death of Queen Elizabeth II and then announcing the accession of King Charles III. This will be proclaimed to the town of Billingham.

We British love our pageantry and the pomp and circumstance that goes with it. For me to play a small part in that makes me so immensely proud.

Farewell my Queen, may you rest in peace knowing how well you have done your duty, just as you promised your country that you would do back in 1952.

God Save the King!
